JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Weld and/or Fabricate fixtures, jigs, gauges, hand applies and special tooling and components.
- MIG/TIG weld Steel, Invar36, and Aluminum components meeting AWS standards and specifications (D1.1, D1.2, D17.1) of the blueprints and/or drawings.
- Operating equipment using safe work habits.
- Examining/repairing work pieces for defects or conformance issues.
- Clamping, holding, tack-welding, grinding or bolting component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding.
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations (follows all safety rules, uses required PPE).
- Able to read blueprints and weld symbols.
- Documents actions by completing production time sheets.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
- Proficient with GMAW and GTAW (capable of becoming aerospace certified D17.1)
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Prefer at least 3-5 years TIG MIG aerospace production welding experience.
- Must be capable of becoming AWS D17.1 certified.
- Familiarity with Steel, Aluminum and/or Invar36
- Knowledge of machine tools and tooling
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, calipers, and tape measures.
- This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22.C.F.R. § is required.

- While performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes, and airborne particles.
- The employee may be exposed to vibration.
- The employee may be exposed to risk of electrical shock.
- The employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- May be required to work weekends to meet department and business demands.
- Work with safe manufacturing processes and understand that eyewear is mandatory in the manufacturing area.
- Knows that safety shoes/PPE are recommended in the manufacturing area.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Moderate to heavy work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
- Must have the ability to weld components that are vertical, flat, or overhead.
- Must have manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work.
- Must be able to see details at close range.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and machinery by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, and carrying materials.
- Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
- Ability to frequently stop, bend and kneel.
- Ability to often reach with hand and arms and grasp.
- Ability to frequently talk and hear.
Ability to constantly stand.
